About WAARC

Our purpose

The Washington Area Amateur Radio Club is committed to providing emergency communication and disaster relief when and where needed to Washington County, Iowa, residents at no charge.

We educate our members and the public through structured training classes.

We promote amateur radio through demonstrations, public displays and classes to teach amateur radio.

Newly licensed amateurs are assisted with technical problems and learn proper procedures through ongoing club training, net activities and drills.

Members use their individual expertise to improve current technical formats and investigate and implement new formats for amateur radio use.

Club Dues are $20 dollars per year. Your Dues go to help support club activities, 2 repeaters, equipment expenses, and insurance expenses among other expenses that arise. One of the benefits that you receive, as a currently paid member, is emails of important club announcements or news. After a time, if you are not a currently paid member, your email address will be dropped off the master list.

If you wish to make a monetary donation beyond the current Dues, we are a 501(c)(3) and will provide a tax receipt upon your request.

Dues can be paid at any club meeting to WAARC Treasurer, AJ1J1NG
They can also be given to club president ABØDX — Mark. He will be happy to forward the dues to the treasurer.
