'89 GMC Truck got sold to one of our members.

Flying Pigs Duathlon Run, Bike, Run went really well; the weather was great, no injuries, and no flats.
Thanks to all that helped and assisted!

Scout Weekend (JOTA) - Jeff Kent talked on Scout Weekend Oct. 18th -20th at Sugar Bottoms and what will taking place on that weekend of Oct. 18th -20th.
We are to bring things that pertain to Ham Radio. The Washington Club is going to commit to go help the kids learn about Ham Radio.

Iowa QSO Party is also athat weekend.

New Business

Christmas Party - Mark is Bryn Mar Steak House east of Ainsworth Ia.
Everybody else is to think of other places to go by next meeting.

Southeast Iowa Hamfest - Help is needed during Ham Fest in October 5th – 6th, for setting up tables and the hot dog & Brats feast on Sat. Oct. 5th at West Liberty Ia.

Ham Super Fest - in Peoria IL. Sept. 21st. Anyone want to carpool?

UHF Repeater - 440 Mark will try to get at it this week July 22nd -28th time permitting!

Field Day

TS 2000 - in need of repairs. Mark ran the plan to do so by the members for approval.
Motion to accept the plan was approved.

Results of field Day of June 22- 23 (Sat-Sun): We got all but 10 states which included Canada's Provinces . All had a great time, plus a good learning experience.
We taught others that didn’t understand anything about Ham Radio but left the area with more knowledge of Ham Radio.

Power Supply - Think on what to do about a power supply that went bad. We want to have suggestions on this at the next Meeting in August.

Thank-you notes - sent to the Washington Journal and to the sponsors that help us during Field Day.


VE exams - at the Library in Washington, From now on, Walk ins allowed (Sat. 10;00A.M. Reg. testing begins at 10;30 A. M. July 20th)

Old Business

Trailers - Kevin is finished with upgrades on the smaller trailer, both are being painted to be more weather wise. Crank up wrenches on the trailers for safety.

Repeater - the 443 repeater was drifting a little, so Mark took it to Jerry who changed the Crystal in it. Now it is working A OK.

Ridiculous Day was a success and the weather cooperated.

New Business

Field Day - Friday June 21 thru Sunday June 23 (It will be our 11th year For our club).
Set up: Thurs. (late evening) can be used due to a rule change
Fri. will be our set up time late afternoon? Getting shelters set up, towers that are on Trailers. Mark said he will bring 2-3 tents to be used for eating, relaxing, coolers for Food & Drinks. Everyone should bring chairs, snack foods, bug repellent, hand sanitizer or wipes, sun screen.
Donations are coming from Walmart and Hy-vee.
There will be a hands on class of operation of trailers, anchors on trailers, and jacks for stability.
Will be needing box and other fans to circulate the air in the Tents.

Trailers - up date, starting from the smaller to the larger trailer, ground anchors, bars, 2 - 20ft length ( out riggers) are the updates with Kevin.
A Cooler was donated to the Club to be put on a trailer.

443 Repeater - tone changed to 146.2 HZ

VE Testing - one person tried but \wasn’t successful.

VE Testing - next session will be July 20th, 2013.

    We will have 2-4 Radios: HF & VHF Stations, Gota station
    New Software is needed to be put in your computers due changes in Canada’s PROVINCE Call Signs!
  • Ham Fest will be Oct.6th at West LIBERTY, Ia.
Fox hunt was brought up, we all are to think on this subject to have a fun Day.

Old Business

The antenna analyzer had to have the N-connector changed on it, after checking the equipment. The center-pin connection had broken, which they will do in time.

Demon Dash for Cash was a great success and a big THANKS to all that helped from the event organizing committee. Mark said THANKS to all of us in helping also! Trailers - Kevin contacted his boss for a donation of material for our trailers to create a balance and anchor system for stability. Craig sent a thank you note letter in appreciation for the donation in that we can serve the community better. Thank you Thomas Scott!

Winter Field Day Scores were done by SPAR. Craig showed on the screen of contacts, multipliers, and check list. We came in 8th place overall in the contest. Good work everyone! Great Success! Thanks to Craig for putting this together.

New Business

Repeaters - we have ordered the Heliax plus (2) N-connectors for our next project on the tower, the 440 repeater. 4-6 people will be needed for this project. Crows nest is 57 ft. up
2 Meter repeater is currently down, Mark will look at it tomorrow as time allows.

Field Day - June 22-23. We will do the Wal-Mart location again this year.

VE Testing - May 11th, at the Washington Library. Arrive around 9:30 AM, registration starting at 10:00 AM, testing at 10:30 AM.

Program - started @ 8:42 PM. Film was shown (1955-1957) Hams Wide World. They helped in disasters with the Red Cross, Arm Forces, Civil Defense, etc. When they first started they had to make their own replacements for parts to fix what was broken. When the film was done, everyone enjoyed it. Ended 9:19 PM.

Demon Dash for Cash run will be Saturday April 6th, 2013, at the JR High / High School.
Will need to be there at 8:00 A.M. to get your assigned to the stations for Traffic control and help Washington PD at intersections.

Club Activities Lap Top - Earl found a 3-4 yr old one for $150.00.
A motion to buy the lap top unanimously approved.

Set up time 8:00A.M. - 10:00A.M., as conditions allow. All help is needed.
We will log all contacts made. Expect 24 hour notice of cancellation or changes due to bad weather.

Field Day - Field Day will be at Marr Park, June 25 and 26, with setup June 24. Verticals and dipoles to be used, so there will be no guy wires and cables to trip over.

Club Picnic - June 11 at Lake Darling, starting at 10:00 A.M.
Pot luck meal at noon. WØOTM will provide the meat.

VE Testing - May 14 at Alliant Energy building.

Des Moines Hamfest - Craig Rose spoke about this weekend's hamfest in Des Moines. There is no tailgating. Admission is $6.00.

AES Superfest - ABØDX showed pictures of the hamfest in Milwaukee, WI, and the club members that attended it.

iHAB - Iowa High Altitude Balloon project - April 30, Green Castle Club at Marion School.
There will be a VHF repeater and 20 meter beacon.

May Meeting - learning the TS 2000 radios in preparation for Field Day and beyond.

Seventeenth Annual Superfest April 1st & April 2nd. April 1 ( 2:00P.M. to 6:00 P.M.) April 2, (8:30 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.) Location: is In the Warehouse of AES Milwaukee 5710 W Good Hope RD Milwaukee, WI 53223. Free Admission, and many things going on.

Flying Pigs Duathlon, September 25, 2010, was a success. A big thank you was given to all that helped.
West Liberty Hamfest, October 3, 2010, was a good event for the Seminars given by ARRL and ARES plus Skywarn by Donna Dubberke, National Weather Service.
The hamfest was enjoyed by all who helped. A thank you to the vendors and Muscatine Ham club.

Discussed how vague the new wireless law is. The bill has died for the year.

April 18 is amateur radio awareness day. Opportunity for a special event station discussed. Enough interest is generated to do something that day.

Work started on the Riverboat Foundation Grant.

Field trip to KCRG TV & WMT radio in Cedar Rapids. Friday March 27 was first choice. Wednesday March 25 was second choice.
